Raising in the US: Gamma or Creation for Your Deck?

A deck for US investors: document language, Sequoia's structure, export and sending. What Gamma and Creation document on each point.

The question: what changes when the investor is American?

A founder based in Paris, Lyon or Brussels preparing a first round with US funds must check three things that the same raise in France does not always require: the document must be written in English, it must follow a structure these investors read fast, and it must go out in a format that opens everywhere. This article compares Gamma and Creation on those three points. For the general choice between the tools, read our overall comparison and Gamma vs Creation: Read-Alone Deck or Live Angel Pitch?.

1. A structure US investors recognise

Sequoia publishes a business plan guide listing ten sections: company purpose in one sentence, problem, solution, "why now", market potential, competition and alternatives, business model, team, financials if you have them, and a five-year vision. The guide gives no length guidance. This structure is not an obligation, but it is one a US investor has seen hundreds of times: following it saves them from hunting for each answer.

Example: a French founder of invoicing software for agencies opens the deck on "Company purpose: help agencies invoice in under two minutes", then moves through problem, solution and "why now" (the e-invoicing reform). A hurried reader knows what they are looking at from the second slide.

2. English language and tone

Gamma generates content in the language you choose: you paste an outline or type a prompt in your language, and the interface is available in several languages, but it works in one language at a time, per its help page. The page does not detail translating an existing document. Reread every slide after generation, as with any AI-produced text.

In Creation, each document keeps its own language, French or English, visible and editable independently of the interface. The choice is offered before the first generation and defaults to your brief's language. A language change guides future edits: it does not automatically translate pages already generated. So write your brief directly in English if your target is American.

3. A clean send: export, badge and read tracking

According to Gamma's help, export is to PDF, PNG or PowerPoint (and to Google Slides through a PowerPoint file). The "Made with Gamma" badge appears on PDF and PowerPoint exports when the workspace is on the free plan at export time, and disappears with a paid plan. The help also flags export limits: italics are a slanted version of the regular font, table corners are sharp in PowerPoint, some gradients or frosted backgrounds render differently, and the PDF is static. On the plans page, individual viewer statistics appear with Pro and Ultra. The free account starts with 400 credits that do not renew, per the credits page.

A Creation deck exports to PDF or PowerPoint from the editor, other formats to PNG. It can be shared with another Ember user or a team, read-only or editable, with anchored comments. Ember's documentation does not describe per-recipient read statistics: if you want to know who opened your deck, plan another way to send it.

How to choose

  • You want a quick document and to know who read it. Gamma, on a paid plan to remove the badge and get viewer statistics.
  • You want a deck built from your project, with an investor style, a precise page count and a space to rehearse the pitch. Creation. Credits consumed depend on your use; check your usage history in Ember.
  • In both cases, reread every figure: a US investor will not forgive an inconsistency between the traction slide and your financial plan. To prepare the conversation that follows, our use case on Creation for finding investors walks through the journey.

FAQ

Does Sequoia require a deck format?

No. Sequoia publishes a ten-section business plan guide with no length guidance. It is a reference structure, not an obligation.

Can I generate my deck in English if my interface is in French?

In Creation, yes: the document language is chosen before the first generation and stays independent of the interface. In Gamma, you can type a prompt in the language you want.

Does the "Made with Gamma" badge get in the way when sending to an investor?

It appears on PDF and PowerPoint exports from the free plan. According to Gamma's help, a paid plan removes it, and printing from the browser does not add it.

Does Creation export to PowerPoint?

Yes, a deck exports to PDF or PowerPoint from the editor. Creation's other formats export to PNG.

Can I know which investor opened my deck?

Gamma lists individual viewer statistics on Pro and Ultra. Creation's documentation does not describe any: use another way to send if this tracking matters to you.

Which one costs less, Gamma or Creation?

We do not compare prices here: offers change. Gamma shows 400 non-renewing credits on the free plan, and Creation consumes Ember credits according to actual use.
